Workshop on 'INSPIRE extensions' organized by EuroGeographics, EuroSDR and Geonovum.

Very interesting workshop on the extension of INSPIRE data models held on June 20th and 21st  at the National School of Geographic Sciences (ENSG) in Marne-la-Vallée, near Paris. It was an opportunity to share experiences and lessons learnt in extending INSPIRE to include the specific requirements deriving from the national laws, thematic communities and environmental reporting.

Webinar "INSPIRE Data Harmonization: how to get a GML conformant to the requirements of the Directive in few steps"

"INSPIRE Data Harmonization: how to get a GML conformant to the requirements of the Directive in few steps " is the title of the webinar organized by the INSPIRE Helpdesk last May 4th 2017, with the aim to support the Italian Public Entities affected by the approaching deadlines of the Directive.
Webinar agenda:

  • INSPIRE Data Harmonisation process
  • INSPIRE Annex I data themes
  • Practical data transformation example for the Protected Sites data theme.

Steps of the INSPIRE Data Harmonisation process :

True usability of INSPIRE datasets: 'voidable' is not optional.

Among the things INSPIRE implementers can do to increase the quality of their INSPIRE datasets, the correct use of voidable elements deserves a special mention. The concept of voidable could generate confusion in the INSPIRE implementer, who could be tempted by the erroneous equivalence ‘voidable = optional to provide’.
